Continue ShoppingTypically, Marine Hinges will wear over time, both above & below decks, and will eventually need replacing. If the fasteners are in good condition you can reuse them if they are not rusted out or otherwise compromised. If the holes are wallowed out where the hinge was attached to, we suggest you repair these holes first with Epoxy. Once the Epoxy has set you can then position the hinge, mark the location of the holes & then re-drill them. When refastening Marine Hinge(s), above decks, be certain to use a Waterproof Marine Sealant (Life-Caulk or 3M 5200). You do not want water to penetrate in-between the hinge & the fiberglass laminate.
