These are expensive, but solid metal throughout; not the cheap plastic of practically all other drawer latches/pulls. I replaced Southco J-M1-2A-15 plastic latches with these Southco and am happy I did; the plastic ones didn't last a year.

Why buy plastic when the better looking stainless option is only a few dollars more? I had a Southco locking plastic latch on the main compartment that I keep all of my safety equipment in (Life jackets, ditch bad, flares, etc.) and after 15 years, the handle snapped while underway. After my brief freak out because all of the hardware is installed from the inside, I sat at eye level and was able to use the broken handle to manipulate the latch to open but knew that I would never put another p

Do the job right... Don't buy a knock off, buy these instead. Replaced four latches in maybe three minutes. Super pleased.

Sure you could buy the cheap plastic version of these latches...but then you'd break those and have to buy more. I'm glad I ponied up the coin for this version, because they look indestructible. Buying products of high quality that'll last for years pays off.
